PETITION TO CHANGE CATEGORY

In general, exceptions to the Placement Criteria are discouraged and should be granted only under extraordinary circumstances. Petitions for an exception to the Placement Criteria and requests for placement in another category may be submitted by an athlete’s Head Coach or Team Director using the form below.

Petitions should be submitted with sufficient time for consideration. Until a decision has been rendered on a petition, the athlete in question must compete in the category determined by the Placement Criteria outlined on page 35 of the 2025 Rule Book. The deadline for the final petition for the 2025 season is Friday, September 10, at 5 p.m.

Parents may not directly submit a petition. The only parties who may request a placement criteria exception are the head coach or team director.
