MTB Fest is a celebration of youth mountain biking in the state of Georgia. Our 3rd Annual MTB Fest will be held on Saturday, October 26 at Kingston Downs in Rome, Georgia. The event is free and open to the public. MTB Fest is an opportunity for Georgia Cycling teams and their families to come together in a relaxed and non-competitive environment as we mark the end of the 2024 season. It is also an opportunity for the public to learn more about the Georgia Cycling Association and our TeamMTB youth mountain biking program.

Activities like Pedal Palooza and Girls Ride offer beginner-friendly bike rides and games that are designed to help mountain bike newbies get to know the sport. One of the highlights of the day will be the TeamMTB Awards presented by Georgia Eye Bank. These awards recognize those who have made an outstanding contribution to the mission of the Georgia Cycling Association.

It is also the eve of the Georgia Cycling Peach State Championship, at various times throughout the day registered student-athletes will have the opportunity to ride the Championship course. There is also a team XC relay race and a pit zone decoration contest and so much more. View the complete schedule below.

HAUNTED PIT ZONE

MAKE YOUR TENT Spooktacular

As Halloween draws near, strange things seem to happen in the TeamMTB Pit Zone. From eerie noises to ghostly sightings, it appears that there’s a haunting taking place at Kingston Downs. Once again this year, we invite teams to decorate their team tent for Halloween. Each team will develop their own theme. Maybe your team wants to opt for a fun 80s theme or perhaps the goblins on your team want to create a spine-chilling Halloween theme…the choice is yours!

Teams will be judged on five areas of focus:

  • Creativity: How original is the display?

  • Construction: Does it look like the team spent time developing their display? Does it follow safety rules?

  • Theme: How well did the team carry out their chosen theme

  • Attention to detail: Does it look good overall?

  • Interactivity: Are there interactive elements such as costumed people, lights, sounds, etc?

TEAM NIGHT RIDE

the forest comes alive after dark

Imagine pedaling through the dense, shadowy woods of Kingston Downs under a blanket of night, the cool October air nipping at your skin. Welcome to the all-new Team Night Ride at MTB Fest. It's Halloween season so the forest will undoubtedly come alive with a playful spookiness. Along the way, the rustle of leaves and the occasional hoot of an owl add to the atmosphere, making the ride both thrilling and fun. So grab a headlamp, decorate your bike with lights, and join the team night ride. (Coach/Student ratio applies to this event)

This night ride isn’t just about the adventure — but there will be plenty of that — it’s a unique opportunity to bond, share the trail, and celebrate our sport in a spectacular way!

Remember you never know what, or WHO, might be lurking in the woods!!!
