MTB Fest is a celebration of youth mountain biking in the state of Georgia. Our 3rd Annual MTB Fest will be held on Saturday, October 26 at Kingston Downs in Rome, Georgia. The event is free and open to the public. MTB Fest is an opportunity for Georgia Cycling teams and their families to come together in a relaxed and non-competitive environment as we mark the end of the 2024 season. It is also an opportunity for the public to learn more about the Georgia Cycling Association and our TeamMTB and Trail Rangers youth mountain biking programs.
Activities like Pedal Palooza and Girls Ride offer beginner-friendly bike rides and games designed to help mountain bike newbies discover the sport. One of the day's highlights will be the TeamMTB Awards presented by Georgia Eye Bank. These awards recognize those who have made an outstanding contribution to the mission of the Georgia Cycling Association.
Some of the highlights of the event will be:
Mountain Bike Relay Race
Haunted Pit Zone Decorating Contest
TeamMTB Night Ride

Do not let your dog enter a Pit Zone tent for a team other than your own. Remember, most tents have food tables, which could be a tasty distraction.

HAUNTED PIT ZONE
As Halloween draws near, strange things seem to happen in the TeamMTB Pit Zone. From eerie noises to ghostly sightings, it appears that there’s a haunting taking place at Kingston Downs. Once again this year, we invite teams to decorate their team tent for Halloween. Each team will develop their own theme. Maybe your team wants to opt for a fun 80s theme or perhaps the goblins on your team want to create a spine-chilling Halloween theme…the choice is yours!
Teams will be judged on five areas of focus:
Creativity: How original is the display?
Construction: Does it look like the team spent time developing their display? Does it follow safety rules?
Theme: How well did the team carry out their chosen theme
Attention to detail: Does it look good overall?
Interactivity: Are there interactive elements such as costumed people, lights, sounds, etc?
TEAM NIGHT RIDE
Imagine pedaling through the dense, shadowy woods of Kingston Downs under a blanket of night, the cool October air nipping at your skin. Welcome to the all-new Team Night Ride at MTB Fest. It's Halloween season so the forest will undoubtedly come alive with a playful spookiness. Along the way, the rustle of leaves and the occasional hoot of an owl add to the atmosphere, making the ride both thrilling and fun. So grab a headlamp, decorate your bike with lights, and join the team night ride. (Coach/Student ratio applies to this event)
This night ride isn’t just about the adventure — but there will be plenty of that — it’s a unique opportunity to bond, share the trail, and celebrate our sport in a spectacular way!
Remember you never know what, or WHO, might be lurking in the woods!!!
RELAY RACE
You won’t want to miss the second annual Georgia Cycling Cross Country Relay Race, where the emphasis is on fun, camaraderie, and unforgettable memories. Competitors and spectators will experience exhilarating pedal-powered excitement amidst the stunning beauty of nature's playground that is Kingston Downs.
Each team may form a student relay team of seven riders which will each complete a single lap on the course. Student teams will compete within their respective conference
Coaches can form a team of four for the race. Coaches will compete with their respective conference and must have a female coach as part of their team of four.
Click here for the complete rules.
NEW THIS YEAR! We have reconfigured the relay course to make it more spectator-friendly. Spectators will now be able to see 100% of the riders on course for the entire relay race! So make relay race viewing a part of your afternoon plans.
